Broken Finger, Broken Camera, and Stolen Bike

Alyson has had quite the month.  Three days before school got out Alyson broke her pinkie while playing basketball at recess.  Normally, broken pinkies aren't that big of a deal.  However, as our pediatrician put it, our children can't do anything simply.  Alyson happened to have broken her finger through the growth plate.  Which means that she had to see an orthopedic surgeon.  No surgery necessary, but she does have to wear a big splint for three weeks.  Here is her pinkie and splint.

Apparently I don't know how to set the time and date on her camera.  Which brings me to our next subject.  Alyson's new camera that she got for her birthday worked exactly 5 times and then decided it was done working.  So we spent four hours at Wal-Mart and the banks trying to convince them to give us a new one.  We now have the new one and hopefully it will work better than the last one.  

Finally, Alyson left her bicycle on the lawn the night of June the 9th.  The morning of the tenth, it was gone.  Someone had stolen it off the lawn.  She was pretty sad about it and started to count the money in her piggy bank.  We looked at bikes a couple of times and never bought one.  Then two days ago Neil was at work when a friend he knew at the police department called and reported that someone had turned in a bike that fit the description of Alyson's.  This kind person woke one morning (the 10th) to find their bike stolen and Alyson's bike left on their lawn.  She turned it into the police and thanks to her honesty Alyson has her bike back.  People who steal things is becoming one of my biggest pet peeves.  Anyway here is a picture of her with her recently returned bicycle.

I suppose all's well that end's well.  Her finger will heal fine, her camera got replaced, and her bike was returned.  She's a lucky and blessed girl.
